Fast Eddie left Motorhead in 1982, but not before he unleashed songs like Ace Of Spades and Overkill on the public. Back then, it was all about ‘going mad in E’: nowadays you’re more likely to find Eddie playing his nylon string… Читать далее
Mull Historical Society. Guitarist: Colin McIntyre
The finest guitar pop from Scotland’s Isle Of Mull. And not a beard in sight..
The Western Isles of Scotland are known for many wonderful things: beautiful scenery, malt whiskey, driving rain… er, sheep. But, it’s fair to say that indie rock traditionally hasn’t been one of them. That is, until the recent emergence of one Colin McIntyre, native to the island of Mull and the guitarist/moving force behind Mull Historical Society. Spit ‘n’ sawdust, growling guitars and singers as real as the ale on tap were the only fashion props on show when Dr. Feelgood. Nine Below Zero and Eddie And The Hot Rods began delivering a ballsy new take on blues and R’n’B in the 70s. Читать далее
Wheatus. Early Years. Guitarist: Brendan Brown
Brendan Brown reveals all on glasses, geeks and acoustic guitars, and what went down with him and Bruce in his mother’s basement Words: Will Simpson
«I really don’t know how we’ve got the geek tag. but it just seems to follow us around.» he snorts. «It’s probably because I wear glasses. I mean I suppose that makes me a geek in some people’s eyes. It’s me, Buddy Holly, Rivers out of Weezer and Graham Coxon. Actually. Graham Coxon told me once that he invented geek rock. So if anyone’s to blame it’s him.» Читать далее
